How old do you have to be and what is a typical day like? What do you do and do you like your jobs? Being an aide, do it make you want to go all the way and become either a physical therapist or occupational therapist? I need some advice because I am thinking about getting a job as an occupational therapy aide or physical therapy aide.
I am an occupational therapy assistant. An aide is responsible for the setup and break down of therapy equipment. They are also usually involved in transporting patients back and forth from therapy. Filing paperwork is also a duty of the therapy aide. It would also be good to find a job with a company that would provide tuition reimbursement for you to go back to school for an advanced degree. Check out the occupational outlook handbook for more info. Good Luck!

I have a 3.2 H.S GPA, & I will be starting volunteering at a nearby hospital every weekend. With this in mind, do I have a chance of getting into a pre-physical therapy program at Loyola or NIU?
There is usually no required GPA to get into a "pre-physical therapy" program unless it is a direct admit program. Loyola has no official physical therapy program, but this doesn’t mean you cannot do your undergraduate education there. NIU is not a direct admit program(unless something has changed in the last year). The only direct admit programs I know in this area are Marquette, Bradley, and SLU. You are admitted as a freshman to the "pre-PT" program, but if you maintain your GPA, you are guaranteed admission by the professional phase.
However, for entrance into NIUs graduate program (and for most other programs), the minimum college GPA is 3.0. Realisticaly, however, usually those with prerequisites GPAs of 3.5 or higher are more readily accepted.
At last I knew, NIU ran the program in a 3/3 format…three years of undergraduate work, you apply for your senior year of college. If accepted, you will be awarded a BS in "health sciences" after the first year in the program, and finish with your MPT after the third year. However, I anticipate they are applying to become a DPT program soon.
ADDENDUM: I just edited my answer…I mean to say that Loyola does not have a PT program at all.
